Energy Analysis

The Hawkeye Approach starts with a no obligation walk through of your facility. The purpose of this first step is to understand your goals, gather preliminary information and determine the appropriate next steps towards energy saving solutions that work for your facility. The second step is to identify the feasibility of energy monitoring, energy modeling or possibly improving the energy efficiency in a more urgent fashion with a Hawkeye Building Systems Design solution.

Energy Monitoring

Energy monitoring is accomplished with the Hawkeye System. The Hawkeye System connects to building equipment and systems collecting energy usage data every 15 minutes. The data is stored in a local database where it is also trended and charted. This real time data opens up a new world of endless opportunities for saving energy and improving the bottom line.

Energy Modeling

Hawkeye energy modeling is performed per the latest U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) computer modeling standards and the latest ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1. Energy modeling is a computerized theoretical tool for attempting to determine the energy usage of a building or system that typically does not yet exist. Due to complex energy rate structures, operating time assumptions and human bias, actual energy usage predicted by an energy modeling approach is difficult to achieve. Energy savings predicted by an energy modeling approach are usually stated with the list of operational assumptions that must be followed to achieve those savings. Energy modeling offers its best value when engineers are attempting to compare one system to another. For example, LEED project points can be achieved by building an energy model of a proposed new HVAC system. This energy model is tweaked in an attempt to demonstrate increased efficiencies above a baseline ASHRAE 90.1 model.

Hawkeye Monthly Report

We provide the additional service of monthly reporting. The Hawkeye System monthly reports are generated from data stored on your system. Given the proper permissions to access your Hawkeye System, our engineers download and review the energy activities of the past month. Our engineers then analyze the data for trends. We then provide a simple and comprehensible report with suggestions for making adjustments. This is where the Hawkeye System pays for itself!

Security

The Hawkeye System is designed to ensure the security of your local area network. The Hawkeye System is completely independent. Data transfers and system access are controlled by you with one single connection to the Hawkeye System.
